TideSong was launched in 2025 with the mission to bring in the contributions from the underserved youth into efforts towards water by creating an awareness amongst them about water conservation from a young age. The principle of the project is to focus on the large repository of energy that India possesses in the form of its youth, who need some support to become the agents of water conservation. For this, the preliminary work is being done on children’s storybooks focused on community-driven water conservation action. Furthermore, we are developing an activity book exploring concepts of sedimentation and filtration, which would form the supporting base for future workshops through which young students would be made aware of water conservation practices and their responsibilities towards the same, as they are dependent on aquatic resources.
Alongside the development of resources and engagement, the project will also be publishing a volunteer-focused handbook that will inform young students about how to recruit volunteers and organize river clearing drives. The initiative would reach out to influencers, NGOs, schools, and social organizations to invite willing volunteers to participate in the clean-up drives that the project would organize. Furthermore, the project will be increasing its impact and presence by networking with social media influencers based in Ludhiana to reach as many youth circles as possible. Through this multi-pronged approach, the intention is not just to make an impact in the present, but to prepare young leaders who will lead the coming generations towards the direction of conservation and environmental sustainability.
